SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) -- A
man accused of sex crimes involving two young children has
agreed to plead guilty to nine felony counts in an agreement
that involves two life sentences plus 20 years in prison, a
Creek County prosecutor says.
Assistant District Attorney Pamela Hammers said John
Perry Sanger agreed to the deal in the case involving two
alleged victims from Stroud. He waived his right to a jury
trial Monday and is expected to enter a formal plea on March
29, Hammers said Tuesday.
Sanger, 53, is charged with three counts of rape by
instrumentation and two counts each of lewd molestation, two
counts of indecent exposure and two counts of lewd acts
against a child younger than 16. The alleged victims were a
9-year-old boy and his 12-year-old sister, both of whom
attended his church.
Sanger pleaded innocent Oct. 15, two weeks after
authorities recovered truckloads of alleged child
pornography from his home.
He remains in the Creek County Jail in lieu of $850,000
bail.
