SUMTER, S.C. - A former youth pastor here
has been charged with forcing a 12-year-old girl to perform oral sex
in a hospital bathroom, police say.
Troy Glenn Clark, 34, of Lexington, N.C., has been charged with
criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He was released on a $20,000
surety bond Monday from a Sumter detention center.
Clark has been accused of assaulting the girl after attending a
Halloween program at a local church in October 2001.
The girl, now 14, filed a report with Sumter police last month.
Clark was arrested last Friday in his hometown in central North
Carolina, where he is helping at a local church.
Clark was not a youth pastor at the time of the incident but was
a friend of the girl's family.
"Of course we're afraid there's a potential for more victims,"
said investigating officer Angela Rabon.
Rev. Eddie Richardson of Sumter Baptist Temple said Clark left
the church last year after more than four years as youth
director.
