Former youth pastor turns self in
on sex abuse charges 2002-07-04 Tennessean.com
A former
Jackson youth pastor accused of sexual misconduct turned
himself in to police yesterday morning after a grand jury on
Monday charged him with rape of a child, rape and sexual
battery.
Curtis Hudson, 33, is charged with one count
of rape of a child, three counts of rape and seven counts of
sexual battery by an authority figure, according to the arrest
warrant. The former associate pastor for youth at First United
Methodist Church is accused of raping and having sexual
contact with three male teen-agers who are members of the
church.
Hudson yesterday was taken by deputies to the
Madison County Criminal Justice Complex to be held until his
arraignment, Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork said.
Jackson Police Department started investigating Hudson
in June after allegations were made by church youth.
Charges were not filed until Monday. The indictment
remained sealed until yesterday.
